Co-founded a company making rear projection HDTV technology. Raised $4M dollars from private sources. Invented a proprietary software and optical technique to make thin (8”) projection TVs at half the cost of flat panels. Filed five patents.

Managed the company and set the vision for this innovation-based product development consulting firm. Grew the Company from 4 to 36 engineers and designers with revenues over US$7 million. The Company provides design and technology development to the consumer electronics, TV, PC, display, power tool, medical device, and instrumentation industries.

Managed the development of the PowerBook 500 series and the `96 high-end portable products. Responsible for a $10 million budget. Extensive experience with off-shore suppliers of portable computer components. Developed the PowerBook 550C for the Japan market and established the internal benchmark for the fastest new product development in the division's history.

Managed the product design of multiple PowerBook notebook computers. Innovations included the notebook market’s first touch pad input device (now universally imitated), the first dual battery system, and radical new industrial designs.
02/88 - 08/89 M.E. Manager, Mirus Corporation, Santa Clara, CA.
Manager of mechanical engineering for a startup company making a digital film printer for the Macintosh and PC desktop presentations market. The product was a challenging opto-mechanical design and the smallest desktop system in its class.
07/84 - 12/87 Founder/Vice President, R & D, Greybridge Inc., Palo Alto, CA
Raised $2.1 million from Hambrecht and Quist Partners and the Dakin Co for an innovative educational toy company. Managed the design group and developed a line of 21 toys. Sold the Company to Worlds of Wonder in Fremont; CA. Continued on as VP of Toy Development at WOW until the Company was dissolved.

Lead engineer in the startup WorkSlate Portable Computer Division, the world's first "slate" computer

Invented, prototyped, and child tested over fifty toy and game products, including toys for the movies Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and Raiders of the Lost Arc for LucasFilm Ltd.
